This is a 17.5" (Medium) 2012 Specialized S-Works Enduro FSR Carbon; consider this the crem-de-la-creme of bikes. It's loaded. Super-light, super-fast, and super....loaded. HOWEVER, and READ CLOSELY -- there's a dent/nick on the carbon on the side of the down-tube near the head-tube. This occurred when the bike fell on a hitch -- not even in 'action'. It happened in 2013; the bike has been ridden for 2+ years since and has never had an issue. I've ridden it the past 3-months. Two different Specialized dealers locally checked it out and gave it the 'test'; it is a bit soft, but it's not cracked or through the carbon itself. If you know anything about carbon, you know that it's stupid-strong. If you know anything about (where) this is on the frame, you'll know this is probably the last place on the frame that ever sees/feels pressure. That's why this is exactly where you can drill a hole into the carbon and route an internal dropper-post. Or, simply patch it with a patch and paint over it. Whatever.
