Perhaps it's because it's still considered to be the first TRUE mountain bike company, or because it's built in the USA ... either/or, Gary Fisher's are a favorite of mountain bikers everywhere. Alas, the newest bike to my arsenal: 2001 Sugar 2 ... SOLD
