This is a classic; you don't see these every day -- and you never did. This is a 19.5" (Large) OCLV carbon Trek Y Five-0; this was the creme-de-la-crem of full-suspension bikes back in the late 90's (alongside the Schwinn 4-Banger and GT LTS). It's got some good and some bad.
The bad: 1) the elastomers inside the Manitou are toast. I'd recommend some Englund air cartridges. 2) the tensioner bolt on the rear shifter was lost and I had to use a cable-housing end-cap in it's place (see picture); what this means is that, as of now, you're only able to get into about 5 of the 8 gears due to cable not pulling far enough. Look around at your LBS and they may have what you need - cheap fix.
The good: Considering the age of this bike, it's in incredible shape -- after all, it's OCLV carbon. No cracks -- and no dents that I was able to see. Yes, there's scratches, but if you can find a 19-year-old mountain bike without a few scratches, I'd love to see it. The Stratos in the rear is working great and the lock-out still locks solid.
